Automation & Control Engineer at Tabreed in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, UAE will control & Process Engineer activities is designated for implementation of District Cooling Plant (DCP) / ETS (Energy Transfer Stations) control system programming and data handling wherein to provide the best optimization running logics [PLC/SCADA] of the DCP / ETS by analyzing and monitoring of data actions during the plant operation activities. SCADA/HMI programming and data handling. Standardizing the SCADA Controls Screens (Navigation, Popup, Datalogging, reports, alarms /Events managements, networking, configurations backup / restorations (SCADA applications & database), etc.,) Providing the accurate plant parameter / reports / dashboard to management for plant performance analysis. Supervising the activity of Remote Operational Control room related Automation & Controls. Supporting the company’s IT Team for complying the cyber security for plant SCADA and Automation networks. This is a Senior level full time job. And salary can range between 15000-35000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Automation & Control Engineer

• Process Logic Software Upgrade: Alarms and Events management updates for all plants.
• ETS Primary / Secondary side control process design/alarm management and upgrade to ensure the implementation as per the Control philosophy. The upgrades include ETS PLC/HMI and Plant PLC/SCADA.
• DCP process control logic upgrades for Semi-Auto & Fully automatic operations and to ensure the implementation as per the Control philosophy. The upgrades include Plant PLC/SCADA.
• Identify the defects in DCP / ETS plant instrumentation & controls which has effect on perform & possibilities of raising the change request for better performance of the DCP. Review the plants control system to ensure the technology is being used and function properly.
• Historical trends and Data logging features updates and configurations.
• Reports for plant performances and analysis tools for operations.
• SQL database backup and restoring.
• Historical configurations for deriving process data dashboards.
• Review the plants SCADA system (Software & Hardware) to ensure the technology is being used and function properly.
• Providing the requirements for controls and logging (reports / trends data) details to the Operation & Maintenance team with the focus on MS SQL / OSI PI / Rockwell Historian.
• Support the company initiative with modification and retrofitting tasks that improve the plant efficiency and reliability.
• Evaluate and propose innovative solutions that can support the company with its digitalization solutions
• PLC Hardware Upgrades: Identify plants for upgrades of hardware where the life cycle is nearing obsolete phase.
• Providing the budget and BOQ for upgradable hardware along with change request plans.

Support

• Coordination with Operation team for process tuning to achieve the plant performance.
• Managing the infrastructure assets of SCADA and remote networks with link to Central Control Room.
• Interacting with IT for cyber security compliances.
• Maintain formal support to all plants by troubleshooting systems, handling errors, backing up systems & restoring crashed ones to ensure maximum performance.
• Engage with the company’s Projects department to review new projects submittals. Attend project activities (design phase, implementation, FAT, SAT and hand over).
• Training: Train SCADA users on how to operate the system to ensure all users are fully aware and capable of operating it after major upgrades.
• Preparing of Training documentations.
• Support the department manager to identify the training needs for the team and to communicate to HR these needs.
• Suppliers: Maintain positive relationship with suppliers in order in order to ensure the company obtains relevant and high quality cost-effective service.
• Work with the Supply Chain department to ensure the availability of spare parts required for the plants maintenance activities.
• Network Administration: Develop, maintain and design system architectures and system test plans in order to ensure optimum system performance at all time.
• Providing the interfaces to PI and if any updates or inclusion in plants
• Policies & Procedures: Being accountable for the backup procedures of the plants to ensure systems are fully supported to avoid any loss of data.
• Develop and maintain security administration procedures to ensure the system vulnerability is protect.
• Health, Safety & Environment: Providing the interfaces to PI and if any updates or inclusion in plants.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls. Across the Automation and Control Department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.

Requirements for Role of Automation & Control Engineer

• University Degree – Bachelors in Computer Science or Electronics and Communication Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering
• 8–10 years of experiences in (Technical Diploma Broad) in process control (PLC & SCADA system from Allen Bradley, Emerson (GE IP), Siemens and Schneider

Skills And Knowledge Desired

Specific in Electronics, Instrumentation and Electrical knowledge.
