Workshop Technician II at GAL will assist the Aircraft Paint Supervisor to accomplish the painting of aircrafts/parts according to schedule using industry standards and company standing operating procedures. Perform O, I and D Level when its applicable.

Responsibilities of Workshop Technician II

  • Follows the day-to-day operations related to assigned duties to ensure continuity of work.
  • Paint and primer application and surface preparation to aircraft components and support equipment in accordance with all applicable technical manuals and safety procedures.
  • Paint removal on aircraft components and support equipment in accordance with all applicable technical manuals and safety procedures.
  • Paints insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface using stencils in accordance with all applicable technical manuals and safety procedures.
  • Applies alodine procedures and other corrosion prevention control (CPC) treatments to aircraft metals.
  • Maintains facilities for storage of flammable and hazardous materials.
  • Requisitions aircraft paint in accordance with all applicable manuals and Federal Standard 595B and maintains shop and bench stock for the painting of aircraft structures.
  • Inspects and prepares forms and records related to maintenance in accordance with DA PAM 738-751.
  • Train host national personnel on the proper painting techniques for aircraft structures.
  • Responsible for tools and equipment inventory assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude
  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.

Requirements for Role of Workshop Technician II

  • High School Completion of a formal aircraft structures painting training course from an accredited military or civilian (vocational or technical school).
  • Or Technical diploma with skill level 7 certified in respective trade.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience working with rotary aircraft powertrain systems and subsystems.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Military aircraft experience letter or equivalent.
  • Approved on the job training (OJT) on painting processes, with applicable certificates, can be used to substitute formal training.
  • Knowledgeable on The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) preferable.
  • Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovering processes.
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of aircraft structure, components, troubleshooting, wiring system and functions, etc.
