A position has come up for a Welder to join Waagner Biro Bridge Services in Dubai. It’s a full-time role, permanent, and based on-site. The work is varied — some days you’ll be building structural parts from scratch, other days repairing or finishing metal sections. MIG, TIG, and Stick welding are all part of the job, so confidence with these is a must. Responsibilities
- Read and understand blueprints, sketches, and technical instructions
- Get welding machines and tools ready before starting work
- Carry out MIG, TIG, and Stick welding depending on what the job needs
- Check welds by sight and by testing for strength
- Look after welding tools, fixing small issues when possible
- Follow site safety rules and wear protective gear without exception
- Work alongside others to meet project timelines
- Keep the work area tidy and safe
- Handle more than one welding job at a time while keeping quality up
- Make sure parts are lined up properly before welding
- Step in to help with other metalwork when required
- Note down materials used and jobs completed for records
- Adjust welding approach based on metal type and thickness
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
- High school certificate or equivalent
- Recognised welding certificate (AWS or equivalent)
Experience
Around 3–5 years in welding work
Skills
- Confident with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
- Able to read and follow engineering drawings
- Good attention to detail
- Can manage time and stay organised
- Physically capable of handling heavy equipment
- Works well in a team environment
Knowledge
- Familiar with different welding tools and machines
- Knows how metals react to heat during welding
- Understands workplace safety in industrial settings
- Basic fabrication knowledge
- Able to spot welding problems and fix them
- Knows structural welding requirements
