Purpose of a Ward Attendant

Assists in the care and support of patients within a hospital or healthcare facility.

Duties of A Ward Attendant

• Assist in patient care and other ward related duties as directed by and under supervision of the staff nurse.
• Respond quickly to patient’s request for assistance.
• Assist with patient’s hygiene, elimination, and mobility, physical comfort, eating and drinking needs while observing & reporting any specific changes to the staff nurse.
• Obtain patient’s height and weight measurement.
• Assist in the maintenance of cleanliness in all areas including patient’s room within the unit.
• Assist in the maintenance of supply and storage areas.
• Transporting specimens to laboratory.
• Act a messenger as required.
• Escort patients to and from Radiology Department as directed by nurse on duty.
• Assist nursing staff in preparing/cleaning patient’s room for admission/discharge.
• Participates in any scheduled educational activities.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

• High school graduate.

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in same role.

Skills Desired

1. Intermediate English skills is a plus.
2. Spoken Arabic advantageous.
3. Demonstrate motivation to work in a health care environment.
