Job Description
VP & Head of Compliance (Global Banking Coverage) at First Abu Dhabi Bank is responsible to provide compliance advisory support to the INVESTMENT BANK Coverage Business by ensuring compliance with the rules, regulations and best practice. This role is a global role and jobholder will be responsible for overseeing Compliance advisory for INVESTMENT BANK Coverage in the UAE and international locations where FAB is present.
Responsibilities of VP & Head of Compliance
- In conjunction with the different compliance teams, lead and manage the creation, implementation and monitoring of the Investment Bank Coverage Compliance framework and plans that properly address Compliance needs and requirements in line with laws, rules and regulations.
- Provide timely compliance advisory and support to the Investment Bank Coverage business.
- Assist key stakeholders (Investment Bank Coverage, Compliance Control Room and Group HR) to ensure Conflicts of Interest and FABs Code of Conduct policies and protocols are upheld.
- Partner and advise on; conflicts management, policy, process, procedure and breach escalation, including but not limited to core themes such as; Gifts, Entertainments, Personal Account Dealing, Outside Business Interests/Activities, Material Deals and Information Walls.
- Build and maintain productive business relationships with Investment Bank Coverage Business partners, across the regions, and must have the ability to work cross-functionally to effectively deliver added value to the Business.
- Provide compliance advice to Investment Bank Coverage on regulatory developments, policy initiatives, projects, new business initiatives and process improvements.
- Oversee and coordinate Investment Bank Coverage Compliance agenda through the FAB International network where Investment Bank Coverage Business is present.
What You’ll Do More?
- Act as the main point of contact for Investment Bank Coverage for any Financial Crime or Regulatory Compliance related matters.
- Liaise with other Compliance teams, including Financial Crime Compliance and Regulatory Compliance teams to ensure Investment Bank Coverage are following the latest regulations and best practice.
- Maintain and build an effective relationship with Investment Bank Coverage so that effective escalation of issues is achieved and risk managed.
- Track and help remediate any Compliance gaps identified
- Support Investment Bank Coverage in adhering to Group Compliance policies, procedures and processes.
- Participate in key compliance initiatives and monitor compliance related projects for Investment Bank Coverage.
- Be comfortable with drafting policies and procedures and conducting risk assessments
- Be the subject matter expert on Financial Crime related Compliance advisory support.
- Support the Head of Investment Banking Compliance with any initiatives/matters related to the wider Investment Bank Compliance team.
- Execute other duties as directed by the Head of Investment Bank Compliance.
Requirements of VP & Head of Compliance
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in management, banking, Finance, preferably with certification in compliance.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Banking industry.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Compliance.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Excellent knowledge of the Corporate & Financial Institutions Business including the financial crime risks associated with both businesses.
- Strong understanding of international best practice in managing the financial crime risks of correspondent banking.
- Strong interpersonal, people management and facilitation skills with good leadership skills.
- Excellent project management skills with strong control.
- Team player, able to meet tight deadlines and manage challenging workload.
- Focused on driving tasks to completion with pace, whilst retaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
