Job Description

GEMS World Academy Dubai is looking for an innovative Visual Arts Teacher to join their successful team from August 2024 to 2025. The ideal candidate should have a strong track record in effective teaching and helping students succeed. While experience in teaching the IB Middle Years and Diploma programmes is preferred, outstanding teachers from any curriculum background are encouraged to apply. Alignment with the IB philosophy and commitment to the Learner Profile values are crucial. A genuine passion for working in a non selective and culturally diverse community is also a key requirement. The selected candidate will be responsible to develop and deliver engaging lesson plans. This includes incorporating various art forms, techniques, and art history into the curriculum.

Job Requirements of Visual Arts Teacher

The requirements for the job role of Visual Arts Teacher are as under:

  • A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as B.A, B. Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent degree specialism in Visual Arts.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience teaching Upper High School/Secondary Visual Arts, ideally within an IB curriculum school, however, this is not mandatory.
  • The experience, personality and educational philosophy to continue to drive the education agenda at this flagship GEMS IB World School, catering for students from over 100 countries.
