Job Purpose of Vice President Program Development

Programmed Management

  • Oversight of the overall programme(s).
  • Compliance of overall programme(s) with Group governance.
  • Communication with all programme stakeholders.
  • Alignment of programme(s) with overall Group strategy.
  • Managing interfaces and dependencies across programmes, clusters and external parties.
  • Manage budgets and resources of delivery teams to maximize productivity.
  • Reporting on overall programme(s) performance.

Health, Safety, Security and Environmental

  • Ensuring programme compliance with Group HSSE governance.
  • Providing leadership for continuous improvement in HSSE performance for project stakeholders.

Project Planning

  • Preparing various project strategies and plans as required in accordance with governance.

Project Procurement

  •  In collaboration with CPD, procure all elements of projects as required.
  • Develop and maintain key framework agreements with suppliers, consultants and contractors.

Execution of Project

  • Manage design, engineering and construction activities.
  • Manage 3rd party construction supervision services.
  • Manage interfaces and dependencies within the project and programme(s).
  • Manage the commissioning, handover, and defects liability period of projects.

Projects Control

  • Cost planning and cost reporting.
  • Baseline scheduling and progress monitoring.
  • Cost forecasting, cashflow and EV planning.
  • Quantity tracking and progress activity lookaheads.
  • Change control and variation estimating.
  • Payment certification.
  • EOT and claim analysis.

Your Responsibilities As A Vice President Program Development

Administrative

  • Proposing and managing the department resource allocation.
  • Setting and managing division budgets.
  • Planning of annual departmental resources for current and future workload and eventual recruitment of staff as required.
  • Setting and monitoring of departmental KPIs and objectives.
  • Performance management of employees.
  • Identifying training needs for the department.

Managerial

  • Providing clear and concise instructions to the Programme Delivery division and the wider portfolio delivery teams.
  • Working with other senior management within the company and coordinate the division activities to meet the portfolio requirements.
  • Communicating programme delivery information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations to senior management on the performance of the programme.

Technical

  • Monitoring project and programme schedules and intervening and supporting where required.
  • Identification of key risks and issues to the programme success and managing appropriate treatment measures and controls.
  • Working with other senior management within the company and coordinate both input and output into and from the division to meet the project requirements.
  • Leading the division in the effective management of the programme in accordance with all the relevant specifications, standards, and procedures.
  • Retrieving data related to the division and completing statistical, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
  • Managing both dependencies and interfaces between programmes, clusters, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide support for cross functional dependencies and collaboration.

Strategic

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with other senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Leading the development and continuous improvement of portfolio working practices.
  • Identifying future digital trends and practices associated with the delivery of the portfolio.
  • Obtain approvals for the implementation of new technologies and practices.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (engineering, construction management, project management).

Experience

  • 20 years in delivery of engineering and construction projects.
  • 5 years in a senior leadership positions.

Skills Desired

  • Delivery of multi project programmes in complex environments and stakeholders.
  • Management of large, multi-disciplined project team.
  • Direct interaction with various boards and senior management on a regular basis.
  • Preferably worked as both a consultant and a contractor.
