Vice President Medical Cost Optimization Daman Abu Dhabi

Daman – National Health Insurance Company is seeking a Vice President Medical Cost Optimization in Abu Dhabi. The role holder will support development and implementation of department strategy following Daman strategy. He / she will support setting departmental and operational goals and support initiating measures to reach goals and to improve performance.

Responsibilities of Vice President Medical Cost Optimization

• Prepare and support results-oriented management overlooking and considering cross-departmental performance/results.
• Support performance management process evaluating progress against departmental goals.
• Develop people and resources including provision of a strong leadership presence.
• Support management of expenditures and requirements, minding their impact on the financial budget.
• Support development, implementation of policies/procedures and enable adherence.
• Foster organisational culture by establishing quality awareness and service orientation and complying and implementing processes such as Project and Change Management.
• Promote the recruitment and development of UAE Nationals to contribute to Daman’s strategic goals.
• Understand components and drivers of medical inflation, develop initiatives, and recommend strategies for addressing its drivers.
• Work across the division performing analytical tasks and coordinating with Intelligence unit.
• Develop strategies for reducing pharmaceutical costs.

Your Duties as Vice President Medical Cost Optimization

• Provide input to special strategic or business improvement initiatives.
• Analyse and condense complex data into written reports and presentations.
• Lead cost optimisation projects, including, but not limited to o Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
• Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
• Apply and respect Daman’s leadership principles and create an environment of open communication and continuous improvement that is motivating and encouraging to staff.
• Ensure that business decisions and processes are documented in a professional way.

Key Requirements

Following are the requirements for the role of Vice President – Medical Cost Optimization at Daman:

• Bachelor’s degree or other advanced degrees in finance, economics, actuarial sciences, statistics, math or another quantitative field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in healthcare industry, 5+ years of which in health insurance.
• 3+ years of management/leadership experience including project management experience.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management and change management.

Job Skills

• Data manipulation skills, including working knowledge of SQL, R, and/or SAS programming.
• Dynamic, self-driven with strong business understanding and background.
• Strategic thinking with strong focus on results and high quality of work Very good leadership skills including people management, selection and development skills.
• Very good command of written/spoken English; knowledge of Arabic language is an added advantage.
• Very good analytical, planning, forecasting, execution and problem-solving skills
• Very good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
