RAKBANK is presently recruiting suitably qualified and skilled candidate for the role of UNIX Administrator. The role holder is responsible to maintain and manage the UNIX server environment, ensuring system reliability, security, and optimal performance for bank operations. Responsibilities of UNIX Administrator
- To ensure 24×7 IT services availability to business
- Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of UNIX servers / hardware / storage / server virtualization related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware and operating systems / storage systems / server virtualization infrastructure and related procedures adhere to organizational values.
- Lead strategic technology initiatives to build and maintain key elements of the bank’s enterprise UNIX / Storage / Server Virtualization infrastructure and associated Infrastructure project portfolio.
- To ensure UNIX / Storage / Server Virtualization Infrastructure is functioning as per the defined SLAs.
- To ensure that the Bank’s UNIX / Storage / Server Virtualization infrastructure is properly sized and capacity planning measures are in place
- To ensure that business requirements for system availability are being delivered
- To ensure that business continuity is adequately addressed in delivering business critical services
- To ensure that the Bank’s core systems & hardware belongs to UNIX / Storage / Server Virtualization infrastructure executed to optimum levels
- To deliver efficient, reliable, robust and cost-effective information technology (IT) services to RAKBANK
Requirements of UNIX Administrator
- Bachelor in an IT related field or equivalent hands-on experience
- Certified on 1 or More of the below technologies.
- ITIL v3 Foundation Certification (optional).
- 8 plus years’ experience in the relevant role
- Proven experience in designing, building, operating and troubleshooting large scale IT systems.
- Strong knowledge and experience in writing scripts using shell, powershell & python
- Strong knowledge and experience in developing ansible playbooks / modules for configuration management.
- Experience in using and managing opensource tools like Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Influx DB, Prometheus, Telegraph, Graafian etc.
- Experience in working with tools like lpar2rrd, Lenovo clarity, HP Open manager etc.
- Strong experience with technical documentation writing and maintenance.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Strong knowledge and experience in creation of dashboards using Kibana & Grafana
- Understanding of ITIL procedures.
- Power Systems for AIX – Virtualization II: Advanced PowerVM and Performance
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Data Center Virtualization Design & Deploy.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator.
- Dell EMC Power Max Specialist Level.
- Dell EMC Specialist Systems Administrator, Isilon Solutions Version 2.0.
