Transcriptionist Medical American Hospital Dubai

American Hospital Dubai is currently seeking a Transcriptionist Medical for their Medical Imaging Department. This position involves reception responsibilities ensuring efficient daily operation of the department patient registration, appointments, and other related reception duties as assigned. This job requires a high degree of attention paid to quality assurance, workflow, and the handling of telephonic communications within the department as well as inter-departmental.

Responsibilities of Transcriptionist Medical

• Responsible for transcribing of the radiological reports accurately and ensure appropriate distribution of these reports.
• Maintain the daily register of patients who have procedures or examinations done in the Medical Imaging Department.
• Keep an accurate, easily accessible X-ray file of films and reports.
• Offer theoretical , practical and acquired experience to other staff for their educational benefit and advancement.
• Manage time efficiently and productively and complete work on schedule.
• Initiate / co-ordinate / assist other colleagues as the workload requires.
• Keep equipment and work area clean , tidy and hygienic along with keeping food/drinks away from all work areas and personal items out of sight.
• Accurately transcribe Medical Imaging reports at an efficient rate.
• Maintain accurate data entry and maintenance of Medical Imaging Daily register.
• Work closely with the Radiologists and technologists in scheduling specialized examinations/procedures.
• Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the filing system for both radiographs and reports.
• Assist with collating results of data collected for all QI related activities.
• Provide MID with support required to drive improvement initiatives.
• Attend to all telephonic inquiries in a professional /efficient and coordinated manner.
• Assist in coordination and conducting of activities related to PI and QI.
• Monitor consumables in the clerical areas and ensures / orders the required stock on a regular basis.
• Assist the Chief Technologist with the coordination of departmental PI activities.
• Assist with follow-up of Patient Complaints as directed by Chief Radiologist in the absence of the Chief Technologist.
• Report equipment faults and initiate the corrective action with the appropriate departments.
• Ensure timely report-turn around for all outside customers as well as adhering / monitoring departmental policy – report-turn around.
• Control the policy with regards storing of paper consumables in the transcription area.

Qualification & Experience

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Transcriptionist Medical Imaging at AHD:

• Secretarial Qualifications.
• 2+ years of experience.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of Medical Terminologies.
• Knowledge of JCIA Standards.
• Knowledge of TQM/CQI/PI philosophy.
• Ability to transcribe recorded Physicians’ diagnosis and encode in software/systems.
• Adapt positively to changes.
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of the daily activities and administration of the MID.
• Potential leadership qualities.
