The Technical Retail Business Analyst at Sharaf Retail is responsible for bridging the gap between IT solutions and retail business goals. This involves analyzing business processes, workflows & customer interactions to identify areas where technology can enhance efficiency, improve customer satisfaction & drive sales. Candidate will have a strong background in both retail operations and information technology, with a proven track record of implementing technology solutions that align with business strategies.

Responsibilities of Technical Retail Business Analyst

  • Project Delivery: Play an active role in the delivery of various store-related IT projects, from conceptualization through to implementation, ensuring they align with business requirements and goals.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders across the retail and IT departments to identify. And define business requirements for new technology implementations and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data related to retail operations to identify trends, inefficiencies & opportunities for process improvements.
  • Generate and maintain reports on project progress, insights & outcomes.
  • Business Process Improvement: Utilize IT solutions to enhance business processes, focusing on scalability, efficiency & customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend system modifications and enhancements to improve retail operations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with IT retail projects and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the IT department and business units, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives, timelines & deliverables.
  • Present complex information to non-technical stakeholders in an accessible manner.
  • Training and Support: Develop and provide training materials and sessions for users on new systems and features. Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for retail operations systems.
  • Project management: Understanding the project management principles and methodologies like Agile, Scrum and Waterfall
  • Technical Integration: Ability to lead and work with partners and provide direction on technical aspects of integrations.

Requirements for Role of Technical Retail Business Analyst

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, related field.
  • 1-2+ years experience as an IT Business Analyst within the retail sector.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and experience working on retail IT projects.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Proficiency in analyzing data and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Solid process mapping skills detailing AS/IS and TO/BE
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to project delivery.
  • Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems.
