Purpose of Team Lead Aviation Maintenance
- Reports directly to and carries out the directives of the Aviation Maintenance Manager.
- Manages all aspects of safety, aircraft maintenance, planning, scheduling, administration, facilities, tools/equipment, resource management and property accountability.
- May temporarily assume the duties of Aviation Maintenance Manager as directed.
Job Duties of A Team Lead Aviation Maintenance
- Responsible for the scheduling; controlling work hours for assigned personnel.
- Responsible for oversight guidance and counseling of all personnel assigned to that section.
- Responsible for all administrative duties such as appraisals, scheduling, attendance, etc.
- Review processes/procedures & providing recommended changes to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Responsible for all equipment accountability assigned to section.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in all “day to day” operations of maintenance.
- Responsible for all primary and recurring training activities of all maintenance personnel within the section.
- Must conduct interviews when required to fill vacancies within section.
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining personnel deployment packets.
- Sets priorities for all personnel and sections assigned to hangar.
- Responsible for all safety matters of personnel and equipment assigned to the hangar.
- Responsible for monitoring facilities and assigned areas for good working condition.
- Advise Manager for purchases request for special tool, equipment and general maintenance items.
- Ensures that all personnel under their supervision observe appropriate safety and occupational health rules and regulations, including the use of personal protective clothing and equipment (PPE). Ensuring that safety is integrated into all activities within the section.
- Carry out additional directives from the Maintenance Manager.
Qualification & Expeirence
- High school diploma.
- FAA Airframe and powerplant certificate or industry equivalent.
- Graduation from military or commercial aircraft maintenance school or course required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Aviation Maintenance.
- Minimum 7 years of supervisory experience.
Skills Desired
- Must have strong knowledge of FAA, EASA, etc and/or equivalent Army maintenance practices including The Army Maintenance Management System for Aviation (TAMMS-A), Aeronautical Equipment Maintenance Management Procedures and ATP Aviation Maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of production and quality control.
- Good knowledge of aviation logistics and asset management.
