North London Collegiate School Dubai is seeking an outstanding Teacher of Chemistry to join its science department starting 1st September 2026. This full time role is based in Dubai within the prestigious Hartland development. You will teach Chemistry across the IB Continuum, including the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. • Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons that follow the IB Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme frameworks. Encourage students to study beyond the examination syllabus and develop a genuine love for the subject.
• Create a classroom atmosphere of rigorous scholarship where academic success is gained through intellectual curiosity. Use a variety of practical experiments and demonstrations to bring chemical concepts to life.
• Assess student progress regularly using internal and external assessment tools. Provide constructive feedback that helps each learner reach their full potential.
• Contribute to the vibrant co curricular life of the school by running science clubs, participating in Model United Nations, or supporting Mad Scientists events. Collaborate with colleagues across the science department and the wider NLCS family.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff. Support pastoral wellbeing as a key part of student success.

Qualifications

You need a recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, BEd, or equivalent, plus a degree in Chemistry or a closely related field. Significant teaching experience in Chemistry at secondary level is essential. Experience teaching the IB Diploma Programme Chemistry is highly desirable. The school also values candidates who have experience with the IB Middle Years Programme. You should have a proven ability to inspire students of all abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the ethos of rigorous scholarship and pastoral wellbeing.
