Majid Al Futtaim presently has a job opening for qualified and experienced candidate for position of a Supermarkets Area Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible to apply Strategy & Commercial plans, decision-making to solve every day trading issues to guarantee proper customer, also responsible for assessing financial and administrative processes in the stores. The role holder should be able to understand trends and to be efficient with visual merchandising and Omnichannel approach.

Duties of Supermarkets Area Manager

  • Guarantee sales dynamics and Retail attainment (attractive display, ambiance…. etc.) in the area.
  • Control daily the correct application and follow up of Merchandise tools, Top 50, import order and Promotion Booking.
  • Utilize store visits to secure the Operational Excellence, zero stock report, labelling survey, delinked items, items facing, depreciation stock and out of stock highlights.
  • Analyse quantitatively and qualitatively the products assortment in the store and propose corrective measures with Sales Development team to increase sales turnover.
  • Control and coach the team with regard to the main KPIs of Customer Experience.
  • Achieve NPS target and to set action plan to solve any issue affecting customer satisfaction.
  • Do necessary arrangement and measures to have fast and friendly Check-out experience for customers.
  • Insure the availability of Fresh Food range, high hygiene standers, quality of products, freshness and tasting.
  • Be a role model and ensure the application of Majid Al Futtaim Retail corporate policies and guarantee the implementation of all laws, regulations and cultural practices of the operating countries are followed and respected.
  • Identify employees with high potential for growth, in order to plan their career development.
  • Take responsibility of the Profit and loss of its stores, with a specific focus on the sales, margin (+ waste/shrinkage), staff cost and expenses.
  • Set appropriate control mechanism to ensure budget compliance and take corrective measures with FC Area when necessary.
  • Ensure the Majid Al Futtaim Retail concepts implementation in stores (discount, everything under one roof, self service and value parking).
  • Coordinate with other departments with regards to stores remodelling to respect deadlines and to have proper execution.
  • Secure the expansion plan being fully involved and control of new Opening.

Requirements for Role Supermarkets Area Manager

The eligibility requirements for role an Supermarkets Area Manager are as under:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management.
  • MBA in the same field an advantage.
  • 8-10 Years of experience in store management relevant role.
  • 2 years of senior retail management experience in various disciplines.
  • Candidate must have extensive Retail & Supermarkets experience and currently handling between 10-20 Stores.
  • Strong Experience in Fresh Food, CG and Omnichannel operations.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and to manager priority’s in very effective manner.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for managing individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, etc.
  • Experience of best practice business and commercial management.
  • Capability to engaged with other department thru transversal projects such as store remodelling, head of file, etc.
