Structural Engineer NPCC UAE

Structural Engineer at National Petroleum Construction Company is responsible for performing / checking of all engineering deliverables in timely manner within the budget by ensuring the quality of all deliverables and adherence to company quality plans and job specifications / guidelines etc. The engineers at this position may have to go for offshore for site survey. The posting is generally for the NPCC base engineering office at MFY Abu Dhabi, however the job holders may have to travel outside UAE on business trip for short durations. Duties of Structural Engineer

• Performing, checking and ensuring technical accuracy and quality of all discipline deliverables such as structural analyses, design calculations, drawings, specifications, purchase requisitions, technical bid evaluations etc.
• During all phases of allotted project i.e. basic, detailed, construction and installation engineering.
• Shall be responsible for planning, organizing and delegation of work to drafting staff working on the allotted project.
• Directly reporting to HOD for all matters except for allotted project related issues for which, reporting to LDE / SDE.
• Ensuring adherence to company procedures, client specifications, guidelines, international codes and standards.
• Review of vendor documents, drawings.
• Assist LDE in material procurement scope and material control for allotted projects.
• Ensuring the timely issuance of all engineering deliverables pertaining to his scope.
• Working within the estimated budget and ensuring high efficiency for the allotted projects.
• May have to attend technical meetings with Clients, PMT, Operations, Yard etc.
• Maintaining cordial relationship with all parties involved in the allotted projects.
• Offshore site surveys and survey reports.
• Close interaction with Fabrication Yard to resolve yard related issues during fabrication stage.
• Close interaction with Operation to resolve installation issues during installation phase.

Job Requirements For Structural Engineer

The eligibility requirements for the role of Structural Engineer are as under:

• University graduate with B.E. / B. Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Masters degree in Ocean Engineering / Structural Engineering shall be considered an added qualification.
• 3 years experience in Offshore Oil and Gas Field.
• Must have experience in detailed and construction engineering for various types of offshore structures such as jackets, topsides and bridges etc.
• LQ modules experience shall be an added qualification.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Good command using general computer softwares such as M. S. Office, MathCad etc.
• Proficiency in using offshore structural softwares such as SACS, GRLWEAP etc.
• Must be well versed with Offshore industry related guidelines, codes and regulations such as API-RP-2A, API-RP-2L, AISC, CAP-437, ICAO Annex –14, DNV rules, offshore material specifications as per BS, ASTM & Euro etc.
• Good communication skills.
