Responsibilities of Store Keeper
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming merchandise or materials.
- Verify and maintain accurate records of inventory levels using manual or computerized systems.
- Organize and maintain the storage area to ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and safety.
- Issue and dispatch materials, tools, or equipment to internal departments or external customers as needed.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and reconcile inventory counts.
- Coordinate with purchasing and procurement departments to replenish stock and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Prepare and package items for shipment or delivery, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Monitor and track inventory movements, including transfers, returns, and disposals.
- Assist with the development and implementation of inventory management procedures and policies.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements of Store Keeper
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in inventory management or related field is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items and operate material handling equipment.
- Proven experience of 1-2 years as a storekeeper or in a similar role.
Skills and desired knowledge
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items and operate material handling equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for handling hazardous materials (if applicable).
