An opportunity has arisen for a Steward to join Culinary team in Jumeirah Living Marina Gate. The opening of Resort is scheduled this month, so this vacancy has been posted by the hotel for desirous applicants to hurriedly apply and make use of this fleeting opportunity.

Responsibilities of Steward

  • Follow all company policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Complete day-to-day activities by following all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carry out in a controlled and consistent manner while delivering a quality service to guests and maintaining standards of excellence.
  • Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment procedures, instructions and controls so that Company provides world class and luxurious hospitality services to its guests.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals.
  • Ensure that high standard of personal hygiene and grooming are strictly observed and followed.
  • Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock.
  • Perform general cleaning duties as assigned by direct supervisor in accordance with established standards of performance and schedules.
  • Ensure the safe, correct and economic use of stewarding equipment including (dishwashing machine, glass washing machine, pot washing machine, floor cleaning and maintenance machines, silver burnishing machine).
  • Clean, wash pots, pans and other kitchen utensils in accordance with the established hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Count, sort and prepare operating equipment and other kitchen utensils for banquet functions and ensure that all kitchen equipment/utensils are maintain with high standards with minimum breakage.
  • Remove food waste and garbage at periodic intervals or as necessary in accordance with the established sanitation standard.

Requirements of Steward

The requirements of Steward are as under:

  • Higher Secondary School certificate
  • .Minimum one year of experience in similar role or capacity within an F&B Outlet.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Basic Food Hygiene and HACCP Principles Certificate.
  • Knowledge of utensils, polish, varnish etc.
  • Ability to multitask and to work well under pressure.
  • Expert in hygiene, health and safety knowledge.
  • Good command of speaking, reading, and writing English language.
