About the Role
The Staff Nurse in the Neuro ICU at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is responsible for providing general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through evidence-based nursing procedures. Furthermore, this role involves demonstrating competency in the behavioral, growth, development, and psychosocial needs of critically ill neurological patients. Moreover, the nurse develops and implements care plans while supervising Practical Nurses and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and complete patient admission assessments in the Neuro ICU
- Monitor and document patients’ neurological condition and effectiveness of interventions
- Establish and implement evidence-based care plans for neurosurgical patients
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols
- Provide teaching and educational material to patients and families regarding neurological care
- Lead the caregiver team in delivery of critical patient care
- Facilitate patient safety and Magnet principles in clinical nursing practice
- Participate in clinical nursing research and support CCAD initiatives
- Communicate patient clinical information accurately in medical records
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification is required
- Minimum three (3) year curriculum in Nursing from an accredited program
- Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in an acute care setting
- Valid and current national nursing license is required
- BLS from AHA or equivalent required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months
- Fluency in written and spoken English required
- Experience with electronic medical records is strongly preferred
