Responsibilities of Sports Therapist

• Provide a quick response when sport or exercise-related injuries occur.
• Rehabilitate the patient back to full fitness. Also provide support and advice to help prevent further injuries.
• Use physical techniques to help the patient and develop rehabilitation plans.
• Mentally and physically prepare the clients to minimize the risk of injury.
• Assess injuries and develop treatment plans.
• Provide treatment including taping, massage, and electrotherapy.
• Develop individualized rehabilitation plans to restore full fitness.
• Give first aid if the need arises.
• Check injuries and strappings during physical activities/ matches.
• Make decisions about whether players and athletes can continue playing.
• Administer treatment for minor injuries such as blisters, sprains, bruises, and strains.
• Refer individuals to appropriate medical and sports practitioners for further treatment.
• Collaborate with coaches and trainers on injury prevention programmes.
• Test joints for range and ease of movement, dysfunction and pain.
• Physically and mentally prepare athletes before competition.
• Provide basic life support and emergency aid in a sport environment.

Education & Experience

Following are the requirements for the role of Sports Therapist at Mediclinic:

• Bachelor’s degree in subject of sport therapy / exercise or related subjects.
• 2-3 years of experience.
• BLS certified.
