Specimen Processor National Reference Laboratory Abu Dhabi

The Specimen Processor at National Reference Laboratory (Mubadala Health) supports in leading the specimen reception area and ensures safe and accurate management of all samples received in line with MH Health and Safety Policies. The role holder ensures safe onward delivery to relevant laboratory departments. This position is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of the different sample requirements as well as any special handling required.

Responsibilities of Specimen Processor

• Follows the standard operation procedure (SOP)/Manufacturer guidelines for care and maintenance of all laboratory equipment.
• Triages, prioritizes and sorts specimens appropriately for accessioning and processing.
• Performs data entry login of patient demographics, specimen source and test(s) orders from requisitions into the laboratory information system with minimal errors
• Carries out sorting, checking and packing samples received from all hospital departments and distributes to correct testing lab.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are implemented and documented with regards to departmental procedures.
• Supports on going changes in a professional manner, contributes to a positive work environment and to the team effort of the department and company.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
