A Specialist Pulmonologist at NMC Royal Hospital performs the professional duties of a Pulmonologist in adherence to the delineation of privileges depending on the efficiency and skills of the particular individual. This is a full time physician role offered by the company.

Responsibilities of Specialist Pulmonologist

• Answer inpatients consultations from medical or other in patient services.
• Orders diagnostic laboratory and X – ray examinations, determining the diagnosis and prescribing applicable therapy and taking the necessary preventive medicine.
• Reviews journals and text books in order to keep current on latest techniques procedures and therapies.
• Participate in continuing in- service training programs, Physician’ conference, etc.
• Responsible for the proper practice of infection control guidelines in all clinical areas.
• Active participation and sustained qualification in all cardio – pulmonary resuscitation programs.
• Attends staff meeting and weekly rounds. Participates in in-service activities as required, i.e., morbidity & mortality conference, peer reviews, etc.
• Performs additional duties as designated by the superiors.

Role Requirements

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Specialist Pulmonologist at NMC Royal Hospital:

• Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship.
• Post- graduate degree in Pulmonology from a recognized medical college.
• At least three (3) years of practice as a Pulmonologist after certification.

Lingual Skills

• Excellent command of oral & written English.
• Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
