Specialist Psychiatry Canadian Specialist Hospital Dubai

A Consultant/ Specialist Psychiatry at Canadian Specialist Hospital will evaluate patients and collect their history before diagnosing problems that need attention by using tests to develop a treatment plan to ensure the health and success of the patients. This is a part-time role offered by the company on February 13, 2024 and is now open for applications.

Responsibilities of Specialist Psychiatry

• Interview patients and perform diagnostic tests to get a clearer idea of their mental health problems.
• Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other persons.
• Conducting physical examinations.
• Observing behaviors, reviewing medical history and related documents.
• Selecting, administering, and interpreting psychological tests; and ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
• Develops treatment plans by determining nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders and establishing treatment goals and methodologies.
• Treats patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Discussing progress toward goals with patients.
• Providing instructions, monitoring effect of medications; and supervising staff provision of services.
• Maintains historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events and writing summaries.

Qualifications & Experience

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Consultant/ Specialist Psychiatry at CSH:

• Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and three years of residency.
• Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology or Member of the Royal College of Physicians (or its equivalent).
• At least 8+ years of practice as a specialist psychiatrist after certification.
• Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice Consultant/Specialist Psychiatric in Dubai, UAE.

Job Skills

• Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of the Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
• Must be highly skilled in the particular field of practice, with mature clinical judgment and the ability to provide professional leadership.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of Medical Department policies and procedures with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his/her work; a personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
• Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
