Looking for Specialist Physician OBGyne jobs in Abu Dhabi? Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) is currently recruiting a Specialist Physician for their OBGyne Ward. Additionally, this full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for board-certified obstetricians and gynecologists to deliver high-quality patient care in a world-class tertiary hospital.
About the Role
The Specialist Physician in the OBGyne Ward at SSMC shares responsibility with the Consultant Physician for delivering high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centered obstetric and gynecological care. Furthermore, the post holder is expected to demonstrate clinical excellence within the Division and contribute to the supervision and training of junior medical staff. Moreover, the role involves leading ward rounds, managing complex OBGyne cases, and participating actively in multidisciplinary team meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat obstetric and gynecological patients according to established standards of best practice
- Lead ward rounds and regularly reassess both inpatients and outpatients in the OBGyne Ward
- Supervise the activities of junior medical staff and jointly assume responsibility for patient care
- Accept clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, and specialty clinics
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings to plan effective and holistic maternal and women’s care
- Review investigation results regularly and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated
- Ensure preparation of patients for obstetric and gynecological procedures including obtaining informed consent
- Support quality improvement initiatives, clinical audit, and evidence-based practice within the Division
- Provide out-of-hours on-call coverage on a rotational basis including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Promote and participate in clinical research, publication, and instruction of junior medical staff
Requirements
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology from a recognized institution
- Current national license or equivalent with eligibility for DOH licensure in Abu Dhabi
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience post-qualification in an internationally accredited institute
- Strong clinical skills in obstetrics and gynecology with commitment to patient-centered care
- Excellent leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development, teaching, and clinical research
