Specialist Pediatrician NMC Healthcare Sharjah

Specialist Pediatrician at NMC Healthcare in NMC Building, Sharjah, Sharjah, UAE is responsible for the specialized medical care of the patients. Required to be involved in non clinical medical centre matters and care of any patient when required. Responsible for compliance to the ethical and professional standards set by the medical centre and regulatory authorities. To apply medical knowledge and skills to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of illnesses, diseases, and infections in patients. Provide specialized care to the patients according to current best evidence-based standards. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 15000-30000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Specialist Pediatrician

• Decide the mode of treatment to the patient, if necessary, by utilizing the available/ prescribed diagnostic resources.
• Provide effective treatment based on the best available evidence and refer the patients if necessary to another practitioner/specialist when this is in the patient’s best interests
• Consult and take advice from colleagues Prescribe medicine(s) or treatment, including repeat prescriptions, only when adequate knowledge of the patient’s health status has been acquired and the medicine(s) or treatment serves the patient’s needs.
• Ensure all patients are entitled to care and treatment to meet their clinical needs. Patient may not refuse treatment because their medical conditions may pose a risk.
• Adhere to a high standard of clinical consultations and physical examination(s).
• Recognize and function within the limits of own clinical knowledge and competence.
• Take all necessary action / steps to minimize the risk before providing treatment or make suitable alternative arrangements for treatment in emergency situations, considering own safety, competence, and the availability of other options for care.
• Provide all relevant information about the patient, including their medical history, the results of the investigations, the treatment provided, current condition and any other information necessary for the continuation of care when referring a patient to another health care professional and follow the referral protocol.
• Take full responsibility for own professional practice and always be prepare to justify own decisions and actions.
• Responsible for providing comprehensive level of patient care in the scope of specialty and practice.
• Where applicable, participates in the oversight and professional development of medical staff.
• Participates in the educational activities of the Medical Staff as a whole.
• Participates in review and planning activities relevant to the development of the Specialty Service and the Medical Centre.

• Participates in activities and opportunities to promote the Specialty Service and the Medical Centre to the public and wider medical community of Emirate and the UAE.
• Fulfils professional requirements for continuing maintenance of competence in all aspects of Specialty.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, doctors and other medical center staff.
• Work with other doctors as part of a team and strictly adhere to follow internal referral policy.
• All patient (appointment & walk-in) should be consultee until the end of your duty hours. No patient should  reject or refer without consulting and proper documentation.
• Medicine samples should not store, distribute, or promote within the consultation room in accordance with the rules and regulations of MOH.
• Consult only the registered patient. At any point of time if a bystander needs consultation, advice the bystander to follow the registration process. No consultation shall happen without patient registration.
• Strictly adheres to originations regulations and policies and avail your service as per the medical Center need prescribed by the center manager.
• Support and participate in continuous quality improvement and participates and contribute all quality assurance activities and programs like ACLS, BLS, and CME etc.
• Maintain confidentiality as per the agreement signed.
• Adhere to follow and work under the IT Security policies and procedure.

Requirements for Role of Specialist Pediatrician

• Bachelor of Physiotherapy or a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy.
• At least 2+ years’ post qualification experience at Specialist level.
