Specialist Obestetrics & Gynaecology at NMC Healthcare will be skilled in performing operative laparoscopy routinely to manage a multitude of procedures, including hysterectomies and incontinence procedures, and for the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic malignancies. You shall specialize in pregnancy, childbirth, and the female reproductive system as well as be responsible to monitor your patient and their baby’s health throughout pregnancy, deliver their baby, and be available for regular follow ups after delivery. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 25000-50000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Specialist Obestetrics & Gynaecology

• Will perform professional duties as an obstetrician/gynecologist
• Providing surgical care both in the operating room and in the O.P.D. for gynecologic and obstetric conditions for both emergency and planned procedures.
• Covering the Delivery Room to include admitting patients, reviewing their history, planning a course of action, performing both spontaneous and operative deliveries, and interacting with midwives.
• Covering the Emergency Service by promptly responding to calls for consultation.
• Providing out-patient care in Clinics, when so assigned by the head of department.
• Doing and interpreting ultrasound examinations both in hospital and on an out-patient basis.
• Interpreting fetal heart rate monitoring and taking appropriate action.
• Carrying out formal and informal consultations from physicians from other departments.
• Attending committee meetings when so assigned by the Head of department.
• Interacting with patients’ families to keep them informed of the patient’s condition, changes in condition and plans.

Requirements for Role of Specialist Obestetrics & Gynaecology

• Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship.
• Three years residency in obstetrics and gynaecology culminating in procuring a Postgraduate / Master’s degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
• Five or more year’s exclusive practice of obstetrics and gynaecology since certification.
• Valid DOH License with an established practice in Abu Dhabi city.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

• Expertise in performing Laparoscopic surgeries with a strong surgical Logbook to support discussions.
• An excellent command of written and oral English. Knowledge of additional regional languages would be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics.
