Job Purpose of A Specialist New Build

• Manages and leads assigned ships projects (Ferries, water taxis, abras) for AD Maritime from initial phase to completion.
• Supervises the related works of builders and consultants as well as their contract approved subcontractors as necessary.
• Ensuring all works and services fully comply with the contract terms and conditions and specifications, quality, health, safety and the environmental policy requirements, in addition to maintaining schedule and approved budget limits.

Job Duties of A Specialist New Build

• Functions as the Specialist New Build for the assigned ships projects design and construction covering all phases from inception to completion, also to assist, as required, the assigned AD Maritime delegate to the ships delivery ceremony.
• Ensures the timely and complete preparation of all design details and specifications for the projects assigned to him in order to achieve AD Maritime agreed objectives.
• Leads and motivates the assigned / specified Projects Management Teams ensuring effective implementation of the related projects, plans and objectives.
• Leads, directs, supervises and controls the Projects Management Teams and participates in the verification of the bidders list, pre-qualification evaluation and tender technical evaluation.
• Work actively to eliminate any deviations that may affect adversely the budgeted cost and time for the projects.

What You’ll Do More?

• Recommends to the Manager, Projects Department the best practice and material or equipment quality concerning the projects under his assignment.
• Ensures the quality of equipment and the ultimate product as per the requirements of the shipbuilding contracts documents.
• Ensures proper coordination between AD Maritime and all work/service providers, contractors, and other agencies involved related to the projects under his assignment to ensure quality, HSE matters, cost and progress are maintained.
• Reviews and recommends the development of cost estimates and schedules related to the projects assigned to him for Management endorsement/approval.
• Monitors implementation of total budget, schedules and quality at various stages of the related projects execution periods.
• Prepare the execution plan for the projects assigned, including design and work site team designations, work hours estimates & distribution & mobilization/demobilization.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Chief Engineer.
• 3-5 years of previous proven experience.
