NMC Healthcare is actively recruiting qualified and experienced candidates for the role of a Specialist Cardiology. The appointed aspirant will work at NMC Bareen International Hospital, MBZC, located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Job Purpose of A Specialist Cardiology
- Diagnose and treat diseases of heart and its functions. Examines patient for symptoms indicative of heart disorders, using medical instruments and equipment.
- Studies diagnostic images and electrocardiograph recordings to aid in making diagnoses. Prescribes medications, and recommends dietary and activity program, as indicated.
- Refers patient to either an interventional cardiologist or to a Surgeon specializing in cardiac cases when need for corrective surgery is indicated.
Job Duties of A Specialist Cardiology
- Performs the professional duties of an internist in adherence to the delineation of privileges depending on the efficiency and skills of the particular individual.
- To perform his duties in the Cardiology outpatient clinic evaluating patients with cardiovascular disease.
- To provide care to In-patients admitted under his / her care.
- Provides on-call emergency coverage for Cardiology emergencies.
- Supports continuous quality improvement.
- Develops and promotes appropriate standards of care.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information and regarding administrative matters of a confidential nature.
- Evidences dependability in carrying out the commitments and obligations of the position.
- Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
- Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.
- Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements.
- Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.
- Comply with Waste management procedures and policies.
- Attend applicable OSH / Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
Qualification & Experience
- Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and 3 years of residency training period leading to aching the Masters Degree.
- At least 5 years of practice as a cardiologist as a licensed specialist post achieving Post Graduate Degree.
Certification & Licence
- Certification by the American Board of Cardiology or Member of the Royal College of Physicians (or its equivalent).
- Current licensure in country of origin and with HAAD license as a specialist cardiologist to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Knowledge and Skills Desired
- Knowledge of UAE Insurance process / coding desirable.
- Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
