Specialist Anaesthesia, NMC Speciality Hospital Al Ain UAE

• To conduct assessment & re-assessment for all patients in the OPD, on admission and prior to any procedure.
• Provides anaesthesia with the full range of anaesthetic agents.
• Provides technical advice and guidance to nursing staff, other specialists and registrars, as required, and provides orientation / training in new techniques and procedures.
• Interviews patients scheduled for surgery to asses and develop an anaesthesia care plan and to establish rapport and allay fear and apprehension.
• Manage patients during sedation and during the period of actual recovery from sedation and documents monitoring.
• Sees patients post operatively to evaluate recovery from anaesthesia, to assess complications and make recommendation as indicated.
• Supervises and maintains appropriate documentation on the “controlled drugs” for the division in the Obstetrical operating theatres and main O.R.
• Organize a suitable call-schedule to provide a satisfactory anaesthetic service to the hospital.
• Organize and direct Q.I. activities of this division, including preparing reports, etc. as required.
• Assists Chief Anaesthesiologist In supervising the day-to-day anaesthetic work.
• Keeps current with new procedures and techniques in the field of Anaesthesia.
• Acts as Chief Anaesthesiologist as assigned in his absence.
• Stands on-call duty as assigned by Chief Anaesthesiologist, for emergency surgery, obstetrics and/or medical procedures.
• Performs duties as outlined above and such other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Chief Anaesthesiologist.
• Takes active part in the teaching of junior anaesthesiologists and other nursing staff.
• To conduct anaesthesia services in appropriate dosages for all age groups in routine or emergency situations.
• Actively participate in CPR.
• Provides on-call emergency services of anaesthesia services.
• Conduct labor analgesias.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

• Graduate from an accredited school of Medicine with an MBBS degree.
• Post-Graduate Masters degree or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years experience in the practice as Anesthesiology post certification.

License

• Current licensure in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Al Ain, UAE.

Knowledge and Skills Desired

• Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work, and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
• Excellent command of oral and written English.
• Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
• Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
