Job Description
Sharaf Retail currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Sourcing Manager to join their team. Candidate will be responsible for overseeing vendor management and development, as well as driving new vendor onboarding processes. The candidate will have a keen understanding of fabric trends, garment costing and negotiation skills to ensure optimal cost and delivery outcomes.
Responsibilities of Sourcing Manager
- Monitor vendor performance in terms of cost, innovation and milestone management to reduce Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Develop strategies for vendor improvement and provide necessary support for enhancement.
- Identify and evaluate potential new vendors in alignment with business and category challenges.
- Lead the onboarding process for new vendors, ensuring seamless integration into the supply chain.
- Stay updated on fabric trends and costs to make informed sourcing decisions.
- Conduct nuanced cost breakdown analysis to optimize garment costing.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best cost and delivery terms.
- Drive initiatives to optimize costs and improve efficiency in sourcing processes.
- Ensure timely sharing of tech packs, art files, samples and swatches with suppliers for sample development.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to ensure sample fit, drape and aesthetic appeal meet requirements.
- Communicate with vendors regarding order status and follow up for outstanding fit, pre-production and top-of-production samples.
- Follow up on shipment status with vendors and coordinate with the export team as needed.
- Manage approvals on product, lab dips, handloom strikes off and styling to maintain quality standards.
- Follow up on fits and test report feedback with the Quality team to ensure product compliance.
- Understand sales/trade reports and collaborate with relevant teams to prepare for capacity and fabric booking.
Requirements for Role of Sourcing Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in retail sourcing, vendor management, or related roles.
Skills And Knowledge Desired
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to drive cost optimization initiatives.
- Proficiency in fabric trends analysis, garment costing and supply chain management principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
