Social Studies Teacher – GEMS Education, Abu Dhabi
GEMS Education is seeking a Social Studies Teacher for one of its schools in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging history, geography and social studies lessons that develop students’ understanding of the world and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Social Studies across secondary year groups, integrating history, geography and civics
- Develop students’ understanding of UAE culture, history and global affairs
- Plan engaging lessons using primary sources, multimedia and discussion-based learning
- Prepare students for relevant examinations and assessments
- Contribute to cross-curricular initiatives and educational trips
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Geography, Social Sciences or Education
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Minimum 2 years of social studies or humanities teaching experience
- Understanding of UAE social studies curriculum requirements (MOE or ADEK)
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness of the UAE context
