Job Description

Serco is looking for candidates who have keen interest in providing services of enacting the role of Simulator Pilot (Talent Pool) in the simulator-based environment replicating air traffic scenarios for ATCO training, where they will be working closely with the Simulation Team and reporting to the Simulator Supervisor. An ideal candidate is someone who engages and influences others by using a wide range of communication methods and styles, facilitates understanding and encourages communication both within own team and more broadly and remains calm in uncertain or challenging situations and consistently behaves in a manner acceptable to others. This role location will be based in DWC, Al Maktoum Airport, at Dubai Air Navigation Services (DANS). This job is open for UAE Nationals only. Job ID for this vacancy is 223042. 

Responsibilities of A Simulator Pilot

  • To provide a realistic performance during various ATC scenarios as per the exercise script/objective.
  • Participate in testing and configuration of relevant equipment and software relating to the simulator and its upgrades.
  • Maintain operational knowledge and understanding of associated/ancillary equipment.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant parts of ICAO documents, AIP and local ATC instructions.
  • Perform the assigned duties as ATSI/LCE/OJTI.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for the role of a Simulator Pilot are as under:

  • Preferably an APL License holder.
  • 2-3 years of working experience in any ATC unit or in an Aviation related environment.

Knowledge & Skills Desired

  • Proficiency in standard ICAO phraseology and such other terminology as may be necessary and relevant during simulation of emergencies.
  • Good knowledge of aviation related subjects like Air Traffic Services, Meteorology, air navigation, aircraft emergencies, Radar and Navigational aids.
  • Proficient in MS Office package.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to understand operational instructions.
  • Ability to follow a set guide as part of the technology/human interface between controller and aircraft in a simulated environment.
