Senior Bid Manager at Serco will be responsible for the proactive management of all relevant opportunities from qualification through to contract award, including managing the solution design, articulation of the value proposition, strategy development, key commercial considerations, partner identification and risk management. You will be working closely with the business development lead, bid team, solutions experts and support functions within a bid, this role will be responsible for delivering high-quality bids on time and within budget. This role will be predominantly based out of the UAE with regular travel to KSA (and other GCC countries). This is a senior level full time role with the salary range of 15000 AED to 30000 AED. Responsibilities of A Senior Bid Manager

  • This role holder will be responsible for end-to- end management of most complex pursuits throughout the entire bid lifecycle (typically from Gate 0 through to Gate 5) although there may be instances when involvement pre-Gate 0 and post-Gate 5 is required, win theme development / refinement, pursuit strategy, pricing, teaming, competitive analysis and black hats, solution development and critical reviews forming key components of this role.
  • To lead and motivate high performing bid teams, in accordance with Serco’s governing principles, with an expectation to be competitive, compliant and win.
  • Effectively lead the right resources including Finance & Commercial, HR, Solutions Development and Supply Chain.
  • Lead, create and implement winning bid strategies to secure growth for Serco’s regional business.
  • To lead the strategic development of bids to ensure a persuasive, commercially competitive offering that fully reflects customer requirements.
  • Ensure development of competitive and sustainable bids within approved Serco business parameters.
  • To deliver high-quality bids on time and within budget by creating and implement bespoke project plans to ensure the delivery of bid requirements on time
  • To successfully navigate bids through Serco’s internal governance process; obtaining relevant approvals at each stage of the cycle
  • To monitor competitors, market and stakeholders
  • Conduct regular competitor/market intelligence reviews and stakeholder analysis
  • Track key political developments relevant to allocated opportunities, sectors and accounts.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of a Senior Bid Manager are as under:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification, or be able to demonstrate strong intellectual capacity, including excellent literacy and numeracy.
  • 7 years+ of managing complex and/or high value bids.
  • Programme / project management experience.
  • Working within successful organisation, ideally in a service-based, government / quasi-government contracting space.

Knowledge & Skills Desired

  • The successful candidate will be proactive, positive, innovative, customer focused, responsive and able to develop and sell tailored solutions and consistently deliver results.
  • Built and lead successful winning bids valued at GBP 20m+ per annum).
  • Considerable involvement in a complex bidding / transition / operation environment.
  • Leading commercial discussions and negotiations at varying stages of a procurement cycle; from teaming agreements, partner selection and client negotiation.
  • Desirable sector and market knowledge in the any of the following fields: Citizen Services, Justice & Immigration, Defence, Airport Operations, Asset Management and Fire Rescue Services.
