Job Description
Senior Specialist Industrial Hygiene at ADNOC is required to lead in the development of Group Company Industrial Hygiene-related Standards and Guidelines. Spearhead the implementation of these Industrial Hygiene-related standards, and determine effectiveness by leading industrial hygiene-related audits. Act as the Technical Authority in addressing current and emerging industrial hygiene-related issues. Duties Of Senior Specialist Industrial Hygiene
- Lead in the development, tracking and ensuring proper implementation of ADNOC Occupational Health Framework, particularly in the field of Industrial Hygiene management across ADNOC Group.
- Acts as a Technical Authority in current and emerging Industrial Hygiene issues aimed in ensuring HSE compliance.
- Lead in development, design and planning of industrial hygiene controls to be implemented across ADNOC Group Company sites and facilities aimed in mitigating worker’s exposure.
- Oversee development and implementation of site- and facility-specific Industrial Hygiene prevention measures, and monitor their effectiveness by leading industrial hygiene-related HSEMS audits.
- Acts as the Regulatory Authority for any occupational health-related HSEIA studies in various project phases for new and existing facilities across ADNOC Group.
- Acts as the Technical Authority in qualitative and quantitative evaluation of health hazards, application of appropriate industrial hygiene controls for these health hazards, and determine their effectiveness.
- Leads in utilization of various statistical methods of exposure data to ascertain exposure judgment acceptability.
- Lead in trend analysis of worker similarly exposed group (SEG) exposures to health hazards; as well as health effect prevalence and incidence arising from chronic exposures and over exposures.
- Critique Group Company’s occupational exposure monitoring plans and health hazard improvement options.Â
- Spearhead the development and implementation of industrial-hygiene related campaigns and initiatives aimed in promoting a high level of awareness of the health hazards and its effects.
What You Will Do More
- Lead in the design of industrial-hygiene related trainings for all employees in collaboration with Group Company Technical Authority (CTA1s).
- Lead in the investigation of reported suspected/confirmed occupational illness pertaining to industrial hygiene-related exposures. Identify causes and provide recommendations to resolve/mitigate future worker exposures.
- Act as the Technical Authority to ensure adequacy of risk control measures for identified health hazards across ADNOC Group Companies.
- Act as the Community of Practice Leader who is responsible in being updated with latest local and Federal laws, as well as international regulations, standards and guidelines; as well as emerging issues, innovative trends and modern/state-of-the-art industrial hygiene sampling, exposure assessment, analytical techniques & control methodologies.
- Lead in the technical evaluation of sophisticated industrial hygiene technologies aimed in promoting positive disruption and improving current Occupational Health Management System (specific to industrial hygiene).
- Lead in the design and updating of Occupational Health Risk Assessment dashboards, preparation of insights reports and quarterly CEO indicators specific to Occupational Health to track progress of relevant key performance indicators.
- Represent ADNOC to various local and international missions and conferences and act as its Subject Matter Expert for its industrial hygiene-related activities, initiatives and programmes.Â
- Act as the Technical Authority in representing ADNOC for industrial-hygiene related concerns to external stakeholders and government entities (e.g., FANR, IAEA, EAD, MOFAIC, MOHRE, etc.)
Requirements For Senior Specialist Industrial Hygiene
The eligibility requirements for the role of Senior Specialist Industrial Hygiene are as under:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Sciences or Industrial Hygiene.Â
- Masters Degree in Industrial / Occupational Hygiene preferred.
- Experience: 10 years of professional experience in in HSE and Occupational Health & Hygiene function.
- Â 4-5 years in an oil & gas industry and similar industries.
- Membership/Fellowship in Industrial Hygiene from an international organization would be an advantage (e.g., AIHA, BOHS, AIOH).
- Certification: Certified Industrial Hygienist (BGC), Registered Occupational Hygienist (CRBOH), Licentiate in Faculty of Occupational Hygiene or Chartered Occupational Hygienist (BOHS), or Certified Occupational Hygienist (AIOH) is highly desirable.
