Responsibilities of Role in FM Technical Communities

  • Continuous Learning: Commit to staying updated with the latest in water treatment technologies, regulations and best practices.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly evaluate personal performance against the operational goals and targets, including water quality standards, budget management and customer satisfaction.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared and capable of acting swiftly and effectively in emergency situations to mitigate risks and damages.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure personal health and safety and that of the team by following and enforcing strict safety protocols during all activities.
  • Water Treatment & Cleaning: Implement low-cost biological, organic, sustainable and natural water treatment solutions.
  • Directly oversee cleaning, maintenance and treatment activities, ensuring no involvement of external consultants unless necessary.
  • Apply appropriate disinfectants and control strategies to mitigate the proliferation of algae and bacteria, including coliforms, in all water bodies.
  • Develop and enforce rigorous protocols for controlling surface water run-offs to prevent contamination and ensure the ecological health of the water systems.
  • Water Quality Testing & Management: Lead in-house water quality monitoring programs using analytical apparatus to reduce reliance on third-party testing.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all regulatory water quality parameters and environmental regulations.
  • Vegetation & Erosion Control, Fish & Aquaculture Management: Implement strategies for controlling vegetation and managing erosion and sediment to maintain ecological balance and aesthetic appeal and oversee the management and sustainability of fish and aquatic life within our water features.
  • Operations & Maintenance Management: Develop scope of works & conduct technical evaluations for all procurement requirements related to water bodies.
  • Ensure efficient operation and ongoing maintenance of all pump stations and filtration systems related to water features and lakes and be directly responsible for the utilization of operations budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Develop OPEX & CAPEX budget for lakes maintenance considering regular operational requirements, outsourcing cost.

What you will do more

  • Staff Training & Development: Lead the development and implementation of training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the team in managing lakes and water features.
  • Develop and continually update Lessons Learnt document to ensure cost effective and maintenance friendly strategies are adopted for future developments.
  • Emergency Response & Regulatory Compliance: Act as a primary responder in emergencies and ensure all activities comply with environmental clearances.
  • Handover & Transition: Liaise with projects and main contractor teams for handover of water bodies.
  • Assets in new developments including appointment of service provider.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct operational audits, inspections and direct monitoring of all activities to ensure goals are meet.
  • Investigate all the water born problems on day-to-day basis.
  • Regularly study and update the lakes design requirements to minimize operational efforts and reduce costs.
  • Manage & reduce customer complaints related to all lakes, ponds, water features, streams, waterfalls and fountains operations and maintenance.
  • Monitor performance of service providers and evaluate weekly/monthly reports to ensure compliance with agreed scope and SLAs.
  • Dewatering Management Services: Engage in the study and implementation of groundwater control, recycling and treatment measures to optimize the design and cost-effectiveness of the dewatering system.
  • Evaluating and maintaining deep wells and discharge systems for effective water management and area dryness.
  • Analyzing groundwater quality to propose alternative, cost-effective uses for lake replenishment and irrigation.

Responsibilities of Role in FM Technical Communities

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences/Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10-12 years practical experience & technical knowledge and excellent understanding of Environmental Health, Quality & Sustainability Standards and knowledge of UAE Local and international health, safety legislations, legal compliance & environmental permits.
