Job Description

A Senior Network Engineer – IT Infrastructures at SSMC manages and supervises the development of the network and cabling team. This position formulates IT strategy, policies and procedures by aligning with the manager for any required changes. The role holder plans and assists in the budget preparation (including any CAPEX that is required) and management.

Responsibilities of Senior Network Engineer

  • Undertakes routine preventive measures and implements, maintains and monitors network security of the enterprise data communications networks.
  • Maintains and implements telecommunication systems designed to meet the communication needs of the business.
  • Performs security reviews and risk assessments on the network, computer and data systems.
  • Monitors reliability of the network infrastructure and operating systems on multiple platforms.
  • Manages remote access and connectivity.
  • Implements and follow approved maintenance, performance, analysis, capacity planning and change management procedures for network infrastructure.
  • Provides technical and administrative guidance for planning and monitoring LAN/WAN and system operations.
  • Designs and proposes new ideas, systems and solutions.
  • Liaises with other departments and external bodies as needed.
  • Maintains close contact with the end-users and vendors.

Qualifications & Experience

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Senior Network Engineer – IT Infrastructures at SSMC:

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Networking/Computer Science/IT or relevant field OR Diploma in relevant field.
  • Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Network or a relevant field or relevant field is desirable.

Experience

  •  4-6 years of relevant progressive experience in a similar role.
  • In case of diploma, 3 years of additional experience.
  • Experience in a large healthcare facility is desirable.
