Parsons Corporation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer ( Design Infrastructures) in Dubai, UAE. The role holder performs conventional and complex Mechanical engineering design assignments applying Mechanical engineering techniques and analysis within a discipline. The Engineer at this level is proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures.This position maintains a key relationship with major clients and ensure satisfactions through exceeding client’s expectations across multiple projects.
Duties as Senior Mechanical Engineer
- Preparing master plans from Concept stage to Detailed Master Plan stage in terms of utility corridor space proofing, defining ROW requirements, coordination for wet utilities, with roads, transportation, landscape and building design teams.
- Develop Master plan report, derive utility demand load calculations, sizing major equipment and selective protection coordination, tie in point requirements, Full understanding of wet utilities and infrastructure projects from Concept to IFC stage.
- Responsible for liaising with Authorities such as DM, DEWA -WD, SEWA, ADM, ADSSC, SMDD, DCD, for obtaining Detailed Design Approvals, Network Approvals, Consumption utilities demands, Building permit approvals, DCD approvals, NOCs and all related designs preparations.
- Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of Mechanical engineering designs for Mechanical systems and pressurized networks for large and mega infrastructure projects that meet customer quality requirements and international as well as Local Authority regulations and standards.
- Analyze the specific project requirements for greenfield, brownfield projects.
- Preparation of design reports, specifications, tender documents and securing design approvals for different project phases including coordination with client/authorities/sub consultants.
- Review of design reports prepared by other consultants and preparation of design review reports.
- Preparation of technical proposals and estimation for projects, Technical Evaluation of Bids and preparation of evaluation reports.
- Coordination with all local authorities of GCC Region.
- Carrying out Value Engineering for various technical options and preparing Value Engineering reports with recommendations.
- Preparing Clarifications to Contractor RFIs, Review/approve key technical submittals related to Mechanical works and dry utilities.
Education & Experience of Senior Mechanical Engineer
- 4-year degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering).
- Affiliation with the recognized standard bodies is added advantage. In addition, other specialist Training Certificates may be required.
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in Mechanical design of Large Infrastructure projects with minimum 4 years in similar Senior Mechanical Engineer position.
- Recent experience Mechanical designs to local and international standards.
- Extensive experience and proficiency in using HVAC HAP Carrier software, CFD software, BIM and Revit experience and other software to perform Advanced surge system analysis, pressure and flow studies, for networks and grids.
- Experience on detailed designs of Mechanical systems for drainage, sewerage, Irrigation and Fire pump stations.
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic knowledge of carrying out CFD analysis for tunnels utilizing software such as CHAM (Phoenics), SES, and similar software.
- Must have thorough knowledge of NFPA regulations, Fire and Life Safety codes, and various local authority standards in the GCC like Dubai Civil Defense.
- Extensive knowledge in design of HVAC system including selecting appropriate type of Air conditioning system, heat load calculations, pipe sizing, sizing of chillers, and all associated equipment.
- Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
