Etihad Airways is excited to advertise a Senior Manager, Network Planning role. Candidate will lead a team of Network Planning professionals to develop and implement Etihad Airways’ network, hub schedule structure and long-term fleet strategy for the passenger business and support the schedule development process in a way that is profit maximizing, operationally reliable and aligned to the broader Etihad Aviation Group’s strategy.
Responsibilities of Senior Manager
- Lead a team of managers responsible for Etihad’s long term network development. Promoting a healthy work environment and focus on team development.
- Agree on & adhere to specific commercial design principles that support company profitability targets.
- ensure that network plans are reviewed and approved by all relevant stakeholders.
- Deliver economically optimized long term network plans (i.e., budget, 5-year plan) for the passenger business, delivering on planned/budgeted ASK outcomes, maximizing aircraft utilization.
- Contributing to the achievement of company profitability targets.
- Coordinate with Scheduling and Slots function to improve connectivity and utilization targets.
- Coordinate with Revenue Management, Alliances & Partnerships, Sales, Government Affairs, Finance and Corporate Communications to develop and implement value adding network changes.
- Coordinate with Finance to produce timely and accurate route and system level profitability reports and use these reports to drive route-specific action plans with the broader commercial teams to improve route and system level performance.
- Coordinate with Procurement to engage with Etihad’s airport partners to conclude financial support packages to improve route profitability.
Requirements for Role of Senior Manager
- Minimum Bachelors’ degree, preferably Business or Engineering (post-grad. qualifications are an advantage).
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in aviation commercial strategy, network planning, financial strategic and/or operations research/planning.

- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects with a high degree of interaction and communication across all levels in the organization.
- To engage, motivate and develop a high performing team.
