Senior Maintenance Engineer ADNOC UAE

The Senior Maintenance Engineer at ADNOC is responsible to provide with the integrated automation Expertise in the Instrumentation & Control Engineering to ensure the operating condition for the all respective equipment to support Borouge’s operations and systems in line with original equipment manufacturer’s user guide and engineering standards, and relevant ADNOC and International Standards. Purpose Of Senior Maintenance Engineer

• Monitor, maintain and Carry out improvements in Safety System to achieve optimum availability.
• Verification and validation of Functional Safety changes in accordance to international standards (IEC-61511/ 61508).
• Maintain the backups for Safety System; obsolescence study and budgeting for Safety System.
• HAZOP & RISK assessment for changes in Safety System; and play role of system architect to design and implement Safety system for new project and improvements in the existing plant.

Responsibilities Of Senior Maintenance Engineer

• Suggest modifications for existing setup or the installation of new equipment for the improvement and modernization of the System.
• Direct the enhancement and tuning of automated hardware and software. 
• Review system status, diagnostic logs and troubleshoot system issues.
• Identify Major Issues & device Short term & long term solutions for the issues.
• Administration or Configuration of Safety System Hardware and Software.
• Review requirements for new equipment or major repairs, evaluates existing as well as new proposals, and makes recommendations to the Manager.
• Plan, prepare and execute system software and hardware updates.
• Perform obsolescence planning for upkeep of the entire system including hardware and software.
• Assist in preparation and updating of ISO procedures.
• Plan and Manages Vender Notification issued. 
• Plan and execute upgrades for software of various systems to keep them in the latest supported levels by respective Software OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
• Ensure the operations and maintenance targets for Safety System infrastructure are met.

What You Will Do More

• Oversee all reliability indices, identifies gaps and provides solutions accordingly.
• Prepare the purchase requisitions.
• Review task, analyses with reference to potential loss and safety hazards including identifying critical tasks.
• Perform reliability studies to ensure optimum equipment availability.
• Perform centralized failure data, root cause analyses of failures and suggests solutions.
• Provide 24/7 telephone and on-call assistance on rotational basis within Automation Reliability Engineers team.
• Monitor the work of external contractors involved in execution of projects.
• Review and liaises with manufacturers” representatives from technical viewpoint for all safety system additions/ modifications during engineering, installation and commissioning to ensure the Borouge specifications are adhered to.
• Administer software contracts with various OEM”s/Vendors to obtain timely support for all the systems.
• Raise technical issues with vendor and implement recommended solutions after validating them.
• Coordinate the routine/planned automation maintenance activities.
• Assist other Engineers / in solving technical problems.
• Liaises with other Maintenance and Operations personnel to coordinate inter discipline work activities or to arrange for plant shutdowns, major overhauls and other maintenance planning activities.

Eligibility Requirements

The minimum requirements for the role of Senior Maintenance Engineer are as under:

• University degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Automation Engineering for Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry.
• Preferably CCNA/CCNP.
• IEC61508 / IEC61511.
• Functional Safety, is preferred.

Desired Skills & Knowledge

• Hands on installation, repair, testing and maintenance of a wide range of I-C Automation systems.
• Hands on and/or theoretical training certificates on Honeywell’s TPS and/or Experion DCS Systems.
• Hands on and theoretical training certificates on Honeywell’s, Experion DCS or ESD Systems
• Hands on system configuration, Honeywell FTE Network, Honeywell Service Node, knowledge of Honeywell PHD system.
• Advanced configuration and troubleshooting skills relevant to SCADA networks such as OPC / Modbus-TCP/IP & RTU communications configuration, Routers/Firewalls/Switches (PCN).
• Hands-on and/or theoretical training certificates on HIMA/Triconex system.
• Knowledge of system diagnostic capabilities, back-up routines to be followed
• Knowledge of process alarm rationalization method
• Experience in automation Safety System implementation and maintenance.
• Able to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
• Technical knowledge of refining production operations and processes.
• Attention to detail. Strong analytical ability.
• Documents system and EDMS, know how to find work related documents.
• Experience in SAP.
