About the Role

The Senior Lecturer in Architecture will develop and lead new scientific research aligned with the department’s strategic priorities in environmental architecture, social computation, and urban design. Furthermore, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and postgraduate research teaching. Moreover, this role provides leadership to emerging strategic areas including health and architecture, social computational methods, urban analytics, and regenerative design.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Lecturer in Architecture at University of Strathclyde Business School UAE Abu Dhabi

• Develop and lead an independent research programme in architecture and the built environment
• Design, develop, and deliver teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise postgraduate research students and support doctoral programmes
• Secure external research funding to support innovative projects
• Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings
• Contribute to the department’s strategic development in emerging research areas
• Lead curriculum development aligned with climate change and energy justice priorities
• Collaborate with academic colleagues and industry partners internationally

Requirements

• PhD in Architecture, Built Environment, or a closely related discipline
• Strong research record in environmental architecture, social computation, or urban analytics
• Experience in delivering higher education teaching and student supervision
• Demonstrated ability to secure or contribute to research grant applications
• Expertise in areas such as health and architecture, regenerative design, or urban analytics
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to inclusive academic practices
• Professional registration or membership in a relevant architectural body is desirable
