Senior Infrastructure Engineer EDGE Group

A Director Supplier Relationship Management at EDGE Group will be responsible to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and requirements. Evaluate emerging technologies, including VMware, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. This is a senior level full time role. The salary for this role ranges from 15000 AED to 30000 AED, which may be slightly negotiatable during the interview.

Responsibilities of Senior Infrastructure Engineer

• Systems Design and Implementation: Architect, design, and implement robust and scalable systems infrastructure solutions.
• Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize server and storage infrastructure, including VMware virtualization environments, to ensure high availability and performance.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Network Administration: Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Ensure network security through the implementation of best practices and security protocols.
• Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and enhance overall network security.
• VMware Expertise: Design, deploy, and manage VMware virtualization environments, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
• Implement and maintain VMware technologies, such as vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
• Perform routine updates and patches to VMware infrastructure.
•  Project Leadership: Lead and participate in infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project milestones.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather requirements and define project scopes.
• Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future infrastructure needs and make recommendations for expansion or upgrades.
• Develop and implement strategies for resource optimization and cost reduction.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other IT teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure seamless integration and collaboration.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, issues, and resolutions.

Eligibility Requirements for Senior Infrastructure Engineer 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in systems infrastructure design, implementation, and management.
• Strong experience in network administration and security.
• Proven experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation tools.

Skills Desired

• In-depth knowledge of server hardware, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi).
• Industry certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
