The Senior Engineer Fire And Gas Management is responsible to provide technical expertise in the maintenance of Fire, Gas and Telecom systems and equipment’s, while ensuring compliance to HSE and quality policies & procedures to achieve high degree of availability, reliability and integrity for plant production and safe operations. Purpose Of Senior Engineer Fire And Gas Management

• Supporting and guiding the Supervisors & Technicians for Fire detection, Gas Detection, Water Based Fire Suppression, Clean Agent Based Fire Suppression, Public Address and CCTV Systems and equipment’s day to day complex troubleshooting and recommending corrective action measures to achieve the full operability.
• Also guidance for field equipment’s of Access Control and Structured Cabling include UTP TCP/IP cable and fiber optic cables.

Activities Of Senior Engineer Fire And Gas Management

Following are the duties and responsibilities for the said role:

FGT Maintenance

• Review the preventive maintenance program of Fire &Gas systems.
• Ensure that they are reliable and optimum maintenance performed.
• Regular review for the optimization of Maintenance plan based on the equipment performance,  manufacturer recommendation and standards.
• Review, and develop scope of work for implementation of EOM, MM and Capital budget items and PCR’s.
• Co-ordinate implementation with other teams and contractor for timely completion of tasks.
• Troubleshoot the Fire & Gas systems and equipment, recommend corrective actions and follow up to ensure timely maintenance and proper implementation.
• Monitor the contractor performance and recommend, report and advice on the task completion to ensure fulfillment of the required work.

FGT Systems Reliability

• Monitor the system readiness, availability, updates and backups for all FGT Systems; including Fire Detection System, Public Address System and CCTV System Software, etc.
• Perform failure analysis of repeated problems, find root causes, suggest and implement improvements for efficient performance.
• Review and assess the reliability of major F&G equipment to recommend and take necessary actions.
• Study the poor reliability materials, and explore alternate materials to improve the quality of system, and optimize the cost and equipment performance.
• Review drawings, specifications, data sheets and bills of quantities pertaining to approved Change Management requests to meet requirements and ensure accuracy.

Assets Administration

• Coordinate with procurement team to ensure the availability of material stock in warehouse for the critical equipment’s.
• Ensure availability of spares, coordinate and follow-up new material orders. Create new proposal for stocking spares (PFS) mainly for new equipment, create item change request, spare parts control, and delete unwanted inventories from the stock.
• Review technical specifications for contract or purchases requisitions for F&G equipment and systems.
• Contribute in technical evaluation of bids relevant to spare parts to ensure required specifications and standards.
• Review and Update the SAP record for  all FGT equipment’s  bill of material and link to the equipment’s
• Optimize utilization of materials, Review the on-hand stock.
• Recommend the material utilization for the ones with shelf life, in order to make it operational before gets expired.
• Endorse the material received in warehouse are as per the purchase order text and requirement.
• Perform the Technical Evaluation for the material that is having technical deviation during RFQ stage.

FGT Development

• Prepare maintenance manuals and procedures for critical maintenance tasks related to fire and gas system in the plant.
• Update Borouge’s processes and practices for Fire, Gas and Telecom Systems in line with the latest international standards, while ensuring compliance to OT Cybersecurity’ policies and guidelines.
• Update the Fire, gas and Telecom systems and equipment’s strategy, work instruction, checklist and forms to ensure timely updates of the systems to support the business and technology requirements.
• Active participation and comment for the Borouge standard document related Fire, Gas and Telecom and other discipline interface with FGT systems.

Projects Support

• Participate in the major project engineering design, document reviews, technical clarification to support the project executions
• Prepare and report the Fire, Gas and Telecom Systems activities list and material planning for the plant shutdowns to Turnaround, as instructed by the direct management.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Integration Factory Acceptance Test (IFAT), Site Inspection Test (SIT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) process for Major projects such Borouge3, Borouge 4 and Renovation projects such as B1B2 CCB, B1B2 maintenance building.

Minimum Requirements

The eligibility requirements for the role of Senior Engineer Fire And Gas Management are as under:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, or any related Engineering Discipline.
• Minimum of 5  years of total experience.

Desired Skills & Knowledge

• Exposure to work for Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry is preferred.
• Hands on installation repair, testing and maintenance of Fire, Gas and Telecom systems & devices.
• Knowledge of international standards for electrical and Fire & Gas equipment’s like NFPA, IEC and BS standards.
• Hands-on & theoretical trainings to certify for FGT Equipment including but not limited to: SIMPLEX fire alarm system or other fire and gas system, CCTV system, Public Address system or Telecom system.
• Familiar with Fire, gas, telecom & security systems such as Fire Alarm Detection, Gas Alarm Detection, Deluge & Sprinkler, Clean Agent, CCTV, Public Address, Access Control, Fiber Optic Network, and Outdoor Telephones & Voice &Data Network systems.
• Good Problem solving, analyzing and Technical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, multi-cultural workforce exposure.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and SAP system.
• Knowledge of international standards & Knowledge of latest technologies.
