Al Rabeeh Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Secondary Science Teacher for Aug 2024. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, confident in establishing open communication with students, staff, and parents. Applicants must lead by example and play a full part in the Academy’s extra-curricular activities programme.

Duties of Secondary Science Teacher

• Working alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet requirements of the curriculum.
• Liaising with colleagues and working flexibly.
• Working with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
• Working cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children’s development.
• Planning, preparing and presenting sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
• Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
• Observing and assessing children in line with school assessments.
• Being reflective of the classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjusting environment, planning and curriculum to reflect this.

Requirements of Secondary Science Teacher

The requirements for the job role of Secondary Science Teacher are as under:

• English speakers, hold a relevant science degree and a PGCE.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience of teaching in schools that follow the National Curriculum of England.
• Experience of current UK initiatives and developments .
• Experience of using data from internal assessments and standardized tests and external assessments to track student progress.
• Experience of teaching EAL students is essential.
• Experience being a form tutor is desirable, but not essential.
• The ability to teach KS3 and KS4 and the experience of delivering Science up to GCSE.
