About the Role

Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Librarian to join the school for the academic year 2026-2027. Additionally, this full-time position involves developing and delivering library information literacy sessions, selecting and ordering new books, and maintaining an attractive library environment that fosters a love of reading. Key Responsibilities

As the School Librarian, you will develop and deliver library information literacy sessions to ensure students can find resources independently and effectively. Moreover, you will select and order new books appropriate to each grade level and the interests of students, as well as curriculum requirements from teachers. In addition, you will catalogue all resources into the Destiny Follett automated library system according to the Dewey system. Furthermore, you will promote reading through attractive displays, arrange author visits and book fairs, and run the Book Club where students can order books. You will also maintain the library database, follow up on overdue books, and liaise with teaching staff to distribute topic-related resources.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a diploma or Bachelor’s degree in library studies or a relevant field. Additionally, a minimum of two years of experience in a similar role in a school setting is required. Moreover, candidates must demonstrate fluent English communication skills both written and oral, with Arabic proficiency being an advantage. Furthermore, strong interpersonal skills with both students and parents, demonstrable organisational skills, and creativity and innovation are essential for this role.
