Key Responsibilities for School Doctor Gems Westminister School

The following tasks will be performed by the School Doctor

• Provide primary medical care and first aid to students and staff as needed

• Assess and manage illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies on campus calmly and effectively

• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records for all students in line with school policies

• Monitor students with chronic conditions including asthma, diabetes, and allergies

• Administer prescribed medications in accordance with school medication policies

• Conduct routine health screenings and medical examinations for students

• Ensure full compliance with local health regulations and school health policies

• Develop and implement health and wellness programs for the school community

• Provide health education to students, parents, and staff on relevant topics

• Coordinate with parents, hospitals, and external healthcare providers when necessary

• Oversee infection control measures and respond to public health concerns promptly

• Support school activities and trips by ensuring medical preparedness

Qualifications

A medical degree MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution is required. A valid medical license to practice in the UAE must be held. A minimum of four years of clinical experience is essential, preferably in pediatrics or family medicine. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; Advanced Life Support (ALS) is an advantage. Strong organizational and record keeping skills must be demonstrated. A compassionate and approachable demeanor with children is expected. A UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is a pre requisite for all appointments. A clean criminal background check covering the previous ten years of employment history will be required.
