Responsibilities of Bus Attendant

• Assist passengers, including students and other commuters, as they board and exit the bus, ensuring a safe and orderly process.
• Help passengers find their seats and secure belongings, providing assistance to those with functional needs or mobility challenges.
• Monitor passenger behavior and enforce safety rules and regulations while on the bus, maintaining a calm and respectful environment.
• Secure mobility aids, such as wheelchairs or walkers, and assist passengers with securing seatbelts and safety harnesses as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the bus driver and other team members to coordinate boarding, seating, and disembarking procedures.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and incidents on the bus, following established protocols for evacuations, medical emergencies, and other safety concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness on the bus, including picking up trash, wiping down seats, and ensuring emergency exits are unobstructed.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or passenger concerns to the bus driver or transportation supervisor promptly.
• Provide assistance and support to passengers during inclement weather, traffic delays, or other challenging situations.
• Attend training sessions and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge related to passenger safety and customer service.

Requirements of Bus Attendant

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, and lift moderate loads during the course of the workday.
• Previous experience of 1-2 years working with children, individuals with disabilities, or in a customer service role.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, with additional language skills beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with passengers of all ages.
