Scheduler Operation Theatre Mubadala Health UAE

Mubadala Health is presently accepting applications from dedicated candidates for the job role of a Scheduler Operation Theatre. The selected candidate will work at Healthplus (subsidiary of Mubadala Health) located in Abu Dhabi. The role holder is responsible for the planning and coordination of the Operation Theatre (OT) bookings for all surgical and emergency procedures in line the asset’s policies, procedures and guidelines. Responsibilities of A Scheduler Operation Theatre

  • Coordinates all non-clinical activities related to OT bookings of surgical procedures as per the scheduling needs of the surgical teams in collaboration with the relevant medical caregivers.
  • Obtains and records information required for scheduling cases in a timely manner and provides accurate information to the relevant clinical and non-clinical caregivers accordingly.
  • Expedites completion and distribution of the daily elective schedule; posts emergencies and add on surgeries as appropriate.
  • Maintains databases of booking and scheduling data in order to produce reports required for OT statistics and KPIs.
  • Checks the accuracy of OT procedure codes to ensure proper billing.
  • Follows up with the insurance team on approvals and ensures patients and their family members are informed accordingly.
  • Maintains safety and hygiene standards in the OT area in adherence to the relevant protocols, rules, regulations and infection-control policies.
  • Communicates with the patient’s families in the waiting area outside of the OT to provide regular updates on the patient’s condition as and when requested.
  • Translates medical information, reports and documents for patients and/or their families as well as the relevant clinical caregivers if and when necessary.
  • Participates in training programs for OT contingency and/or disaster field training, exercises, and deployments.
  • Communicates with patients and/or their families by answering inquiries, giving directions and referring patient inquiries to Nurses, Physicians and relevant medical caregivers as and when required.
  • Notifies facility management helpdesk teams regarding any significant issues, faults and errors observed.

Qualification Requirements

  • Essential: Vocational / Technical Education.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience such as customer service, call center or related fields.
  • Preferred: Certificate/Diploma of Nursing.
  • Experienced in a JCIA facility.
  • Experience in OT scheduling and booking.
