Job Purpose of A Schedule Engineering Specialist
- The Senior Specialist Schedule Engineering will support the programme delivery team(s) in the schedule management of projects assigned.
- Provide schedule estimates for projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and milestone dates.
- Schedule forecasting and reporting.
- Monitoring and analysing schedule related KPIs and measures across the programme.
- Proactively identify and advising on critical project and programme related activities.
Duties of A Schedule Engineering Specialist
- The position will be responsible for all activities required to complete the job purpose.
- The position will be expected to support and collaborate with the wider team to benefit the delivery of the portfolio of works.
- The position shall be able to independently identify, plan and lead initiatives and execute agreed plans and communicate positively and enthusiastically with all parties as required.
- They shall maintain a professional approach to their work and be able to collaborate well and maintain productive and respectful relationships with others.
- Providing clear and concise information to the Portfolio Reporting and Controls team.
- Working with project delivery team(s) and coordinate all necessary input to meet the project requirements.
- Communicating project and programme schedule information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Preparation of reports and presentations to senior management on the performance of the project and programmes.
- Development of schedule estimates for projects.
- Support tender process (input to ITT documents and technical reviews).
- Development and maintenance of project schedules and key milestone dates.
- Approval and monitoring of contractor’s baseline schedules, quantity trackers, workforce plans, etc.
- Provide monthly forecast schedules for each project.
- Evaluate the schedule impact of change notices and claims.
What You’ll Do More?
- Analyse and report variances in planned versus actual progress in each month’s report, identify root causes and support in identifying mitigation measures.
- Proactively communicate critical activities related to project progress and identify opportunities for increased productivity to improve or recover on project schedules and supervise implementation of those activities.
- Monitoring and analysing schedule related KPIs and measures across the programme.
- Identifying future trends in the field of schedule engineering and proposing improvements and enhancements to existing specifications, standards, methods, and solutions.
- Leading the development and continuous improvement of departmental standards and procedures.
- Developing and maintaining relationships to monitor programme and project performance and expectations of end user and identify areas for improvement.
- Support in the internal and external audits across the portfolio and manage control measures for risk items.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, project management, etc.).
- 15 years experience in delivery of engineering and construction projects.
- 10 years experience working directly in a programme control environment.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a project delivery team on contractor side.
- Relevant experience delivering large scale (250m+ AED projects) infrastructure projects, preferably including marine civils experience.
