Job Description
The Sales & Purchase Senior Manager at Abu Dhabi Ports will be responsible for leading and executing the buying and selling of vessels within the maritime cluster. This role encompasses strategic decision-making, market analysis, and relationship building to drive profitability and establish the company’s prominence within the maritime industry. They will develop and implement effective sales and purchase strategies while ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve.
Duties of Sales & Purchase Manager
- Establish the Sale & Purchase desk for a growing and diverse fleet including containers, offshore vessels, port vessels and floating barges.
- Establish the code of conduct for the S&P activities for the Cluster drawing on the best practices in the shipping industry.
- Prepare the market data for the various market segments, while taking input from the market data sources and internal business units.
- Prepare scheduled plans for asset utilization and asset disposal / replacement for review by the Cluster’s Excom.
- Prepare the scalability options basis fleet acquisition or disposal and its strategic value for the respective business units over short.
- Liaise with the Finance and Legal office to establish the most optimized revenue structure arising from the S&P structure.
- Update the CEO on the market data on a monthly basis.
- Identify trends over medium to long-term which complement the business profile of the Cluster and optimizes its overall revenue models.
- Conduct sale and purchase for the cluster, either on asset or fleet basis.
- Prepare quarterly reports on the S&P activities of the Cluster for review by the CEO.
- Conduct annual valuation through a set of third party brokers, as approved by the Cluster.
- Create a roster of key service providers for Cluster and set out standards that they must comply with in line with the AD Ports’ policies.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of Sales & Purchase Senior Manager are as under:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- 10-12 years experience in the Sale & Purchase and ship broking industry.
- Experience gained in the Asian (based in Singapore, Hong Kong) or European markets (based in London or Hamburg).
Skills Desired
- Preference will be given to candidates who are from established ship owning houses or establishing broking houses based in Singapore.
- Must have a proven track record of working on complex shipping projects involving sale and purchase of assets.
- Fluent English and Arabic is an advantage.
