Overview of Job of A Safety Coordinator

A Safety Coordinator ensures a safe work environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting training and investigating incidents.

Your Duties As A Safety Coordinator

  • Being the focal point within the department for all relevant OHS&E issues.
  • Communicating OHS&E matters advised to him from management through the line of communication within the department.
  • Assist in the promotion of safe working practices & OHSE issues within the department.
  • Assist in the promotion of all safety alerts from the Health & Safety Department and take part in Toolbox talks.
  • In the event of a fire, other emergency, or drill, assume the role of emergency Coordinator / Fire warden.
  • Inspection of job activities on board and workshop, update the existing risk assessments and develop new risk assessments for new activities.
  • Safety, Quality and Environment Non conformity report raising / tracking and monitoring.
  • Preparation of documents for the monthly internal HSEQ meeting and records keeping.
  • Raising near misses and maintaining records.
  • Liaison and coordinate with Safety, Quality and Environment Departments regarding Safety, Quality and Environment issues.
  • Investigation of accidents and incidents and reporting to the concerned personnel.
  • Preparation of the department management program, maintaining records and statistics.
  • Maintain Training Need Analysis, Training Matrix, Statistics and scheduling of training.
  • Maintain records of all activities for various Safety, Quality and Environment audits.
  • Ensure that the Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard are strictly followed.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Training in Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor / IOSH / HSEQ related Trainings.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in similar field.
