Risk and Finance Data Manager Dubai Islamic Bank

Risk and Finance Data Manager at Dubai Islamic Bank is responsible to define, design and implement Master & Reference Data governance capability within Risk and Finance functions of DIB, supported by enterprise data governance policies, standards and processes to apply rigor to the maintenance of critical data across the functions. Identifying, addressing data gaps and reconciling across heterogenous business applications in order to improve the business value, increase efficiencies and uphold reliability of critical data.

Responsibilities of Risk and Finance Data Manager

• Oversee execution of target operating model, roadmap and vision for Master & Reference data specifically for Risk and Finance data domains.
• Define policies, standards, controls and process to support the governance of Master & reference data, ensuring data standardization and drive consistency across multiple systems/business applications.
• Play a fundamental gatekeeping role and data custodianship in safeguarding Master data from unauthorized access and changes.
• Identify critical data in use within Risk and Finance domains, formulate data reliability scores and implement continuous improvement cycles framework.
• Work with Risk and Finance data stewards and guide them on best practices and methodologies that are appropriate for the improvement.
• Implement a Master & Reference data management platform in order to improve efficiencies in identifying and resolving issues.
• Define the Risk/Finance combined data architecture involving various application systems, scoring engines and statistical data models in use, and enforce applicable data governance principles and standards.

What You’ll Do More?

• Document all master data flows and validate these against the data lineage in order to identify misalignment of data flows that need to be rectified.
• Define and implement a suitable master data management implementation style and synchronization patterns for various data domains that is aligned to the defined Target Operating Model (TOM).
• Follow the communication plan to increase transparency of master data changes.
• Work closely with the data quality management teams to prioritize data quality issues relating to master & reference data.
• Maintain reference data entities in accordance with ISO (or applicable standards) as the only permissible reference values acknowledged by DIB.
• Participate in data governance committees and report any identified trends impacting master data and provide expert guidance.
• Identify and document root causes that degrade the quality of data and work with business and IT teams.
• All the above accountabilities include but not limited to any additional/new tasks or responsibilities assigned by the line Manager.

Requirements of Risk and Finance Data Manager

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Business administration or Data Science.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Financial Services with deep knowledge in various Data Management disciplines: Master Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Quality, Business Intelligence, Data Governance.
• Experience in data structures of Temenos, Finn One, Oracle ERP (GL), OFSAA, Moody’s, SAS etc.
